Pointless.

A pencil with two erasers would have no point—literally! Without the graphite tip, it can't write, making it pointless in both senses of the word. The modern pencil eraser was patented in 1858 by Hyman Lipman, who had the brilliant idea to attach rubber to the end of a pencil. Before that, people used bread crumbs to erase pencil marks!
