Teens Grab Rakes to Help Elderly Clean Up Their Leaves

Seventh and eighth graders in New Jersey volunteered for some community service in order to help local seniors. Twenty-one students took a school bus, equipped with rakes and recycling bags to clean up the properties of elderly residents in Wayne.

The students volunteered for the nonprofit organization I Want To Mow Your Lawn Inc.

The founder of the organization, Brian Schwartz, started the organization after getting laid off during the start of the pandemic. The organization is now in 35 states.

Schwartz is now trying to pair up with other school groups after the success of this first go-round.

This was only the students' first stop, too. They will be returning in the coming weeks to tackle more yards.
