Kraft Mac and Cheese Collaborates with Van Leeuwen to Serve Mac and Cheese Ice Cream

As most of you know, July is National Ice Cream Month. July 14th is National Mac and Cheese Day. In a twist of events, two nationally-known companies have joined together to create something unimaginable but timely... Mac and Cheese ice cream.

Mac and cheese giants Kraft and ice cream aficionados Van Leeuwen banded together to offer the public something that only those who are serious about mac and cheese and ice cream would want.

"For the first time ever, Kraft Macaroni & Cheese will launch a limited-edition ice cream in partnership with Brooklyn-based Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, the cult-favorite brand known for making decadent and delicious ice cream and vegan ice cream with just a few ingredients," the company announced last week.

The ice cream comes in the classic Kraft yellow color, which is a pretty bizarre color for ice cream. It's made with paprika, annatto, and turmeric. The exact recipe hasn't been released, but both companies promise that the ice cream is not made with artificial preservatives or ingredients.

The ice cream dropped in Van Leeuwen stores on July 14th. It was being sold by the scoop in their stores in New York City, Los Angeles, and Houston. The ice cream was also being sold online for $12 a pint.

“We know that there is nothing more refreshing on a hot summer day than ice cream. That is why we wanted to combine two of the most iconic comfort foods to create an ice cream with the unforgettable flavor of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese we all grew up with,” Emily Violett, Sr. Associate Brand Manager for Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, said in a statement.
